Holy cow! Am I really committing to this? Welcome!

My name is Renee!  I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, niece, granddaughter and friend.  After just recently having my first child in September, I found that I often turn to the women in my life for support in raising my child.  They have provided me with tips that worked for them, reassurance in my endeavors and just lend their ears and let me vent.  They constantly give me comfort in the fact that I am not alone in my experiences!    As women, we think that when we have a child, all the answers will magically (and naturally) come to us and there will be no apprehension.  We often times blame ourselves when we don't have the answers but our friends seem to have it all together and look to be doing great!  We read book after book after book and also check with our doctors.  Why do all the professionals seem to contradict each other and often times themselves?  It's enough to make you pull out your hair, throw up your hands and give up!  Nowadays, women have more responsibility than ever.  We often have to work outside the home AND raise the "perfect" children, along with cooking, cleaning, organizing, keeping up the home, chauffeuring, maintaining relationships and taking time for ourselves (what!?).  I hope to chronicle those times in which my friends have helped me and help others that don't have as many resources as myself or those that just don't know who to listen to. Sometimes, we just need to hear that certain things work, so we can make our own decisions in parenthood and not just react the way that others feel appropriate.  I hope to also find solace in this blog and I hope that you all enjoy my adventures in life as I attempt to always find the silver lining.
