Pinterest Anonymous

Just when I thought my addiction to social networking was under control, I was introduced to this new site Pinterest.  I'd seen some rumblings about it on Facebook but didn't want to commit to anything new.  Then, a good friend of mine suggested that I check it out.  She described it as a virtual way to organize your thoughts, ideas or things you want to do.  I thought about it and then checked it out.  "This is neat," I admitted and tried to sign up.  That's where the addiction started.  Wait listed, the email said.  At first, I was pissed.  What, am I not good enough for this Pinterest?  What kind of website only allows a certain amount of people?  A crappy one, that's the kind.  Then, I got the official invite the next day.  Pure joy!  They want me!  I signed up immediately.  Now, there is no turning back.  You see, Pinterest is perfect.  It's a marketplace for ideas.  A saver of trees.  For those who aren't in on the new thing, let me explain it to you.  It's organized into categories, DIY, Food, Style, Decor, Education, Kids, etc.  Each "pin" is actually a picture from a webpage that serves as a bookmark with a brief description or caption under the photo.  The user creates pinboards to organize their pins of interest.  You then search through the different categories or friends you follow and then repin the ideas that you like.  It's great for me because my husband and I can never think of new things to eat for dinner.  Now, all I have to do is log onto Pinterest and see what food ideas I have pinned and viola!  I know that I could probably just go to foodnetwork.com and search for dinner ideas but this is way more fun!  Well, I could go on forever about Pinterest if you let me but I'll keep it short.  Check it out and take a look at my boards, you won't be sorry.
